It looks like the Mike Danforth Memorial Break Room will happen. I spoke to Bill Murdock, the director of Eblen Charities, yesterday, and the new building is coming along. He wants a nice photo of Mike to put on the wall. I don't have a lot of those -- he loved looking silly.
My favorite picture of him is really inappropriate for a nonprofit break room -- or any other public place:
That was Mike. He saw the gorilla statue and went for it. I didn't take the picture -- his sister-in-law did -- but I love it. It's so Mike.
So, we'll do another picture. Maybe this one:
I did take this one. My friend, Annie, and I have a running joke about being the first Olympic synchronized hot tub team. We bought these silly bathing caps, and of course, Mike had to try one on. Very becomming.
It's really hard to find a serious, appropriate picture of him. That's part of what made him so much fun to be around.
