My sister's yarn

I was digging through the closet in the spare room Saturday when I came across a huge bag of yarn that my sister had squirreled away and not gotten around to using before she died. Her spouse gave it to me, and I put it away, not knowing what to do with it.
During the winter, I think a lot about people who don't have a home and have to be out in the cold all day and as I started looking through the yarn I realized I have enough for about a dozen scarves.
My goal now is to crochet a scarf a day until Dec. 21 (National Homeless Persons Memorial Day) and then donate them to A HOPE, a daytime drop-in center here in Asheville for people who are homeless. I have asked people at my church to crochet or knit or donate a new scarf. I don't know how many I'll end up with, but I love the idea of my sister's yarn warming someone who needs it. I'm pretty sure she'd love it too.
