Reducing my carbon footprint

I test drove a little scooter today. It was as much about saving money as it was about reducing my carbon footprint. I can't afforf to fill by tank with gas every week anymore. The scooter gets 100 miles to the gallon. And it's pink. There are those who think I should have a shiny red scooter, but I like the pink -- it's more visible. I think I'n not getting the matching helmet because that's just too much pink.

James got a kick out of the thought of me on a sooter and even more so when I told him I plan to wear Mike's leather jaccket whe I ride.

Rob and I aren't as good as some people at reducing our carbon footprint, but we try, just to show the kids it isn't hard. We recyle, we eat local food, we grow some of our own food and make jams and jellies from it instead of buying things that have been shipped in from across the continent. If I want to set an example for our grandchildren, I need to walk the walk.

So, here's a chance to set a good example for the kids -- and have some fun in tne process. I think I'm getting it as soon as I can.
